Indonesian Christians

Continue to pray for Rebekka, Ratna and Eti, three Indonesian women in prison for allowing Muslim children to attend their Christian children’s club. They are looking on their time in prison as an opportunity to draw close to God, read His Word and share their faith with other prisoners. It is possible they may be released in May, after serving more than half of their three-year sentences. Pray that they will be able to rejoice in the Lord whatever happens in May.

International Baptist Conference, Toronto. Canada

To those who prayed for my visit to Canada and speaking at the Conference, I want to say a big "thank you"!

My wife Mary and I flew from Exeter and we had good jourmeys both ways.
The Conference was on the theme of Worship and CD's of the addresses are available from Jarvis Street Baptist Church, Toronto.

I also preached at Jarvis Street and gave a series of addresses at the Toronto Baptist Seminary. In all I felt upheld in prayer and was warmly received.

We stayed with old friends who took us to see the Niagara Falls. Amazing!

Latest news of Manja Tamang

10/26/2006: Nepali Missionary Still Joyful in Prison (GFA Report)

Even being in prison for about five years on false murder charges has not stopped Manja Tamang from making the most of his circumstances and daily living out his faith. Prior to his arrest, Manja had an active and growing ministry in Nepal. Today Manja continues to have a vibrant outreach—but now it is in a prison instead of a mountain village. He has led several fellow prisoners to Christ and has regularly held small group meetings where people have eagerly gathered to learn more about Jesus. Manja has also been able to further his education and now teaches some classes in the prison—another opportunity for people to see his joy and ask about the hope that is in him. Rati, Manja's wife, shares his love for the Lord and his passion for taking the Gospel to some of the most unreached. Although she dearly misses her husband and has struggled at times to hold her emotions, Rati continues to proactively serve the Lord and counts it a privilege to do so. She teaches at a GFA Bridge of Hope center where she pours her life into kindergarten children, reaching them with the Good News. She also joins other teachers for evangelistic outreach in their local community several nights a week. Such outreach is a wonderful blessing for the local pastor, as it extends his ministry and opens doors for the Gospel. GFA's Nepal leader, Narayan Sharma, believes it is likely that Manja will be released in a few years' time and thinks it wisest not to try another appeal for an earlier release at this time, given the current uncertainty of political conditions. So for now, Manja remains in his prison cell. But he and Rati trust in the Lord, and they know that every hardship they face now will be worth it in the light of eternity.

Safe return from Indonesia

Mary and I returned safely from a wonderful but quite demanding visit to Indonesia.
We were overwhelmed by the reception given to us - especially in the Church at Gresnik where i was asked to preach.
We leave behind some dear Christian brothers and sisters, but have many precious memories.
With another sunami hitting Java - togetehr with the earthwaukle damage (which we saw something of) and the threatening volcano - Indonesia need your prayers.

Remember too that Indonesai has more Muslims than any otehr nation on earth. The island of Bali - which we also visited is dominated by Hinduism - with temples and shrines everywhere.
pray that the light of the Gospel will shine in these places - bringing many souls to salvation and glory to our risen Saviour.

Frederick and Mary.

Prayer for Indonesia

With the threat of the volcano and the devastating earthquake- and the country still recovering from the tsunami last year - we must pray that God will have mercy on that nation. pray that througfh these events there may come a clear word form God and that the cause of the gospel will prosper there.

Please pray for my visit to Indonesia later this month, that through it others may be blessed.

Visit to Indonesia

I have been invited to Indonesia and during my visit with my wife Mary, I have been invited to preach and teach during the first two weeks and then we are being taken to Bali for a a week's holiday. God willing, we shall be flying from the U.K. on 21st June.

Indonesia is heavily populated country with a great majority of Muslims. Please pray for our fellow believers there.

Especially since my wife and are not getting any younger, we particularly ask your prayers for our journey there and back home and that God would graciously use our time with our Indonesian brothers and sisters to His glory.

Yours in his grace,

Frederick (Wotablog)

Door to Door Mission Display at Conference

Evangelist Tim Serjeant and I were able to set up a display with information about the Mission at the recent Banner of Truth Ministers Conference at Leicester. We distributed quite a bit of literature and had many enquiries. Please pray that this will result in further door to door evangelism by more churches in the coming days.
If you know of any church that would like a presentation by Tim or myself - to encourage door to door work - please let us know.
